Time travel

One of my earliest memories is of my grandmother talking of the phone. It was a big wooden contraption attached to the wall into which she would shout. A phone call made the day eventful. Even with this technology, however, her main method of communication was by beautifully scripted letters written in longhand and taken into town to the post office for safe delivery.

What if I could travel back in time and try to describe to my grandmother the modern world of emailing and mobile phones. Imagine her amazement! And her bewilderment of hearing of blogging and tweeting! What if I could search the future to see how my grandchildren communicate in 60 years time.

My first thoughts on hearing about this training was that I didn't have time. But I realize that these new technologies will be incorporated into the way we work.
